“The 52-hertz whale” is a whale species that calls are pitched at 52 Hz, which is higher than other whales of their likely species. They are so-called “the loneliest whale in the world”. 

When I was in high school, I spent too much time caring about others' opinions. I tried to make everyone accept me. But in reality, there must be some people that will never understand you. So I always imagine that maybe “the 52-hertz whale” and I are each others’ soulmates. Even if no one could ever understand us, we are still going to be who we are.
